Good Easter!

Dear Friends in Christ,

When I lived in Italy, we often wished one another Buona Domenica – that is, “Have a good Sunday.” But on Easter Sunday, we would say Buona Pasqua—that is, “Good Easter!” In fact, Easter is the Sunday of Sundays, the solemnity of solemnities, the last day of the Paschal Triduum and the first day of the Fifty Days of Eastertime. We celebrate the death, burial, and resurrection –the Passover of Christ. Easter is also so closely linked to baptism. At baptism we became a sharer in Christ’s Passover. No matter what day we were baptized, Easter is the anniversary. Read more
